Our home in Paraguay – May
I spent 11 days in Paraguay visiting with family and friends who I hadn’t seen in over a dozen years the last time I’d been there. One of the highlights of the trip was going to my buddy Gabriel Gimenez’s ranch in the interior of Paraguay. He showed me how he was growing a very productive grass feed for his cattle he brings to market. His home in the interior is very comfortable. He even has a wine cellar which is very unique for the area.
Guy’s weekend in Santa Fe, NM – May
My buddies Peter, Santosh and I went to Santa Fe, NM in May for a “Guys trip”. During the day, we explored the wilderness areas, checked into 10,000 Waves a famous Spa in the area, went out for dinner and spent the evenings drinking fine wine, telling stories, predicting the future and solving the world’s problems way past my normal bed time.
Crown King, AZ – June
In June I had a hankering to have a beer with my dad, and brother Dane at Crown King Tavern. To get there I rented a Jeep and we took the off-road trails behind Prescott. I hadn’t done that road since I was in college. Later on that same trip, I did some 4-wheeling up Schnebly Hill, outside of Sedona, AZ. What a spectacular view.

Galveston, TX – New Years Eve
We will bring in New Years at the San Luis Resort in Galveston, TX with a bunch of our Houston-based Brazilian friends we’ve known for 25+ years.
Dear Family and friends,
This year has been great and I have had a blast. We have completed a lot of different trips this year as well.
On September 21st, Corey and I celebrated our 31st merry wedding anniversary in Destin, Florida . Our children surprised us at our suite with champagne and a beautiful flower arrangement. It was an emotional moment for us and truly made it special.
Our daughter Alison moved to Dallas for work with a new company and now I finally have an idea of being an empty-nester. I miss her and Charlie very much. Now that Alison is out of the house, we are changing her room so I can work out of there as an esthetician.
Also this year my sister came to visit us from Argentina in July. We took her around Houston to show her our stomping grounds and all the places we frequent. It was nice to spend time with my sister since I don’t get to see her that often.
In October Corey and I went to San Francisco to visit the vineyards; this was my favorite trip. We spent Halloween at a street party in San Francisco and people watched everyone in costumes and also did a wine tasting.
I wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
