Costa Rica Partner Appreciation Trip – January
To celebrate a very successful 2015, I invited my business partners and their family, all 18 of us, to Costa Rica for an appreciation trip. Each of us had a fun day to do what ever we wanted, such as white water rafting, SCUBA diving, a day at the spa, etc. We spent a day exploring Manual Antonio National Park, and the last day together as a group planning future business and just hanging around at the beach.
Enjoying the outdoors of Colorado – March
I spent a week in Grandby, Colorado downhill skiing, snowshoe hiking and nordic skiing with Charlie, Elisa and Luis (my nephew). I really enjoyed getting a workout in the beauty of the Colorado outdoors.
The Wave – April
On the border of Arizona and Utah near the Grand Canyon, there is a very popular hiking spot called “The Wave”. I’m sure you have seen photos of it before. It is so popular and protected that only 20 hikers a day are permitted to hike the area. Hikers are given a permit via a lottery by the Bureau of Land Management. There is a 1 in 100 chances of getting drawn, and I was drawn. I hiked it with my brother Dane, and a couple of his buddies (Dan and Lou).
Fly Fishing Montana – June
I went fly fishing for the first time on the Yellowstone River in Montana. I was invited by Jay Curry, my Vistage Chair. We hired the boats and guide that took us to the best spots. All I had to do is stand in the boat and cast, which is a new skill to learn. I’m definitely doing it again.
Glacier National Park – July
Did more hiking and whitewater rafting for the first time in Glacier National Park, with my buddy Peter Glynn.
Rocky Mountain National Park – August
Can never do enough hiking. This time in Rocky Mountain National Park, with Peter Glynn.
White Water Rafting the Rio Grande – September
Alison treated me to a belated Father’s Day give white water rafting and hiking near Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was a very memorial and exhilarating father, daughter outing.
Celebrating our 32 Wedding Anniversary in New Orleans – September
Gladys and I did another Jazz crawl, this year in New Orleans to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We stayed in the French Quarter and hit some of our favorite eateries we frequented when we lived there back in the ’80s. The Jazz and the people watching was very entertaining.
Christmas in Arizona
We will spend Christmas in Prescott, AZ to be with family, and get some hiking in.
